looking for some lightweight breathable raingear. been using frogg toggs and it's time to look for something better. prob looking for a bib this time. any suggestions

Nelson's in Gloucester can't be beat.
I have the grundens jacket, Might even be the knock off, it's nice for heavy rain.
For drizzles I just wear the sou'wester hat. Stylish and functional ;)

I,ve always had Good Luck,Just with FroggToggs.Even in colder rain,long Sleeve underneath,been OK.

Which Frogg Toggs have you been using, Paul? I have the Toadz pants and jacket and really like them. Much more well built than the really light weight stuff they make.

Neoprene 2mm westmarine, and various neoprene tops depending on the weather

Mid-summer, I'm getting a grundens apron when needed

I actually got some closeout Cabela's heavy duty pants that are thick like Grundens, and I got them for like $30 on clearance. They're awesome but hot in summer. When it's hot, I just wear shorts and the white boots.

paul, check out the Guide grade stuff from Cabelas. Pricey but worth it in my opinion. I have had the bibs for 7 years and they have kept me dry and warm. Think they cost me $225

I also have some Cabelas Guide wear Gore-Tex bibs and jacket. Very dry and light weight. Very comfortable. They fold up very small when not in use.

I can't recommend the Simms Paclite jacket enough. Super light, fully breathable, saltwater safe (zippers) and keeps me fully dry. I got the 2011 model new off eBay last year for $70.

I got a h&h at bass pro last yr... don't get black..hot hot! !!!
Also stay away from plastic snaps the salt and sand kill them

look at some golf rain gear if you want lighter stuff. Sunmountain, FJ, under armour, zero restriction...

Checkout Cabelas online. They've got a bunch of different options right now on Closeout. The Caribou Creek Goretx paclite jacket @ $50 looks pretty decent.

The mailman just brought my new Cabelas parka. It is almost weightless, stuffs into a tiny bag, has velcro tightenable cuffs and a nice hood. It is a funky light green.

I am 6 feeet tall and weigh a little over 200 pounds. These are only available in Extra large. Perfect for me allowing room for a couple of sweatshirts if I need them

I'd go with guy cotten over grundens. Much lighter and just as rugged

SUND 763 since 2005 cost $75 at store with other grundens. It was the least expense as compared to other stores at that time and likely still is now.
Tip: wash and dry jacket per instructions then spray with armoural it looks brand new even better and also makes the pvc material soft because the salt and sun stiffen over time.

yup, that is my jacket too
a little uncomfortable in the summer..light yes but a not breathable by any means

Been using Guy Cotten stuff as its local to me and they make a great product.
Used their surf top for foul whether gear but picked up a smock a while back as it was lighter. Great for the price.

Also, For being completely waterproof and breathable a Patagonia shell can't be beat. Life time warranty as well.

i have helly hanson gear. always holds up, and fashionable which is half the battle.
