Considering getting it. Astigmatism in my right eye, marginally better in my left. Pretty nearsighted- I need to wear glasses while driving, especially at night- can't read street signs. But it bugs me the most when I have to wear them fishing.
My eyes are pretty stable, so I would probably enjoy 10-15 years of 20/20 vision before I'd need glasses again. At the current cost of eye exams & lenses and frames (not under my insurance) the cost over time is pretty comparable.
Has anyone gone through with the procedure? Your thoughts?

I would wait until your eyes stabilize otherwise you would find yourself getting returned or wearing glasses.
Consider disposable contact lense which can be worn upto a month without removing but it is healthier to remove over night now and then. The bifocal contacts can be purchased for as low as $30 per box of three pairs usually go for retail over 50 bucks. PM if you want to know where.

I had it done 5 or 6 years ago. I also had a stigmatism and it was the best decision I made. My vision is fantastic now. 20/15. I would do it again in a heartbeat without regret or hesitation.
