You will be missed Ed. :( striper50trout 03-23-2013, 09:48 AM That is terrible news. I met him 2 years ago in Gansett and fished with him a few times last year during some great fall run action. He was a great guy and I always looked foward to bumping into him and talking about fishing. Rest in peace Ed. 5/0 03-23-2013, 09:57 AM Sad news thanks for letting us know. Eben. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device RIROCKHOUND 03-23-2013, 10:10 AM What a shame. A good friend and a good old 'gee... lots of laughs, even though it was usually him joking about living in my house and chasing after my wife :-D Few people truly enjoyed the simple act of bending a rod, size, species, didn't matter. You will be missed Eddie! Nebe 03-23-2013, 10:12 AM Ed was probably my greatest mentor in surfcasting. I always jokingly called him my spiritual advisor. And will miss his frequent check ins at my studio to talk about women, chorizo and women and fishing. This one hurts. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device JohnR 03-23-2013, 10:17 AM Slow Eddie was one of the outwardly happiest go lucky blue haired skirt chasing anglergentlemen you would find. He was truly a gem of a guy. Godspeed Ed. I'm gonna miss your zeal for the suds & your humor Nebe 03-23-2013, 10:27 AM Me too. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Stewie 03-23-2013, 03:12 PM I met him last Fall. When I pulled up to his house to buy a rod from him, he ran out to the street and pulled my dog out through the window of my truck. I parked and walked over to his house. He was helping Annie find a pork bone that was near his basement door. They were already friends and didn't need me at all. He was a really nice guy. I was hoping to fish with him this Summer. Rest In Peace Eddie. afterhours 03-23-2013, 03:21 PM RIP Eddie... a real nice guy. bassballer 03-23-2013, 04:30 PM RIP. Rappin Mikey 03-23-2013, 05:46 PM Sorry to hear this. I hope I'm getting this right, but I remember him telling me about a bait shop he had in Apponaug, and I lived near there at the time. Rest easy. Dick Durand 03-28-2013, 07:58 AM You're right. Owning a bait shop in Apponaug is one of the several things Eddie did during his lifetime. He ended his years living on Pt. Judith in Narragansett where he'll be greatly missed by the local surfcasters. Nebe 03-28-2013, 08:31 AM Commercial striped bass pin hooker as a kid, Army sniper in Vietnam, manager of the ocean mist, truck driver, tackle shop owner, co owner of a antique consignment store, antique dealer, and general junk man... He fascinated me. His father was a surf caster as well and died from being swept off the east wall.. They found his body the next spring on Scarborough beach. Ed was one in a million. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device SirWinston 03-31-2013, 03:25 PM Just found out today - shocked and saddened, and yet so glad to have had the honour to have met him and for the time to spend in his company, whether casting or conversing. So many fond memories; his humour, the brit/gee conversations, and he taught me so much. A large part of my daughters' education of fishing came from him. Take care, my friend, and thank you. I will see you in the surf. You are missed. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
