A hockey mask.
fireguy 06-09-2003, 05:01 PM What type of fishing are you planning on doing? What time of day? There are fish there, your chances of catching them depend on how you answer the questions.
The canal is a cruel unforgiving place filled with 50 pound stripers and lost lead he [or she] who can tame it and know all her locations tides moons and moods truly masters the art of fishing
BRING A WHITE PENCIL POPPER AND A WHITE DANNY DEEP DIVER
They work great
Stroth 06-10-2003, 06:36 AM I've got all sorts of gear...jigs, swimmers, rubber, poppers....u name it.
Right now my plan is to spend a good deal of time jiggin'. In the past I have never had the setup to get this done. After many hours searching this board and others I finally have come up with a ditch jiggin' stick.
I don't have a tide chart here, but I think low tide is some time around 4 in the a.m.???? Not sure if I'll get there quite that early, but I'll be there by 6 a.m.
I'm thinking a few hours around the west end at a few spots and then If i hit nothing, I'll move on to where, well that's still up in the air........
Tightlines, and thanks!!!
jeffsod 06-10-2003, 09:01 AM Seriously, you might want to bring some 'off' to combat the mosquitos. After all this rain and now a little sun those suckers will be coming out in force.

Stroth 06-11-2003, 07:04 AM Alright:
Some optimistic folks out there .
I'll bring wood, jigs, and maybe some chunk bait. Man I feel like I'm playin' that picnic game :laughs:
I'll bring my tricked out bike, but I need to fashion some sort of kickstand.
That website is awesome! Thank you.
Current turns east at the railroad bridge 2:47 a.m. and west at 9:17 a.m.
My plan (yes it is subject to change) will be to arrive at the herring run around 4:30. I'll toss some jigs there until a certain time and then head west.
Anyone from sb.com gonna be around???
