Almost ready to launch for the season. :)

I notice some corrosion on top of the fuel gage cape. Not sure, but it looks like what you might see on a battery terminal that needs maintenance.
Could this be a electrolysis issue. There are zincs on the outboard.

That looks like normal salt corrosion to me but there might be some minor electrical issues at work. Take off the connections (clean or replace) and clean the top of the take so it looks like it will make a good electrical connection. The reattach the connections and use either a dielectric grease on all the connections or a CRC spray that coats and protects the terminals from all the salt air/moisture. Should hold up for a while.

Electrolysis will eat away the molecular structure of the metal and it will break apart in your hands


I would replace those connections and do not use the cheap plastic crimp connectors, use a heat shrink marine ones and make sure you get a good seal.

Just finished straightening out the spaghetti that came with her last summer. Added fuse box, replaces a ton of wires and replaced most connections with the shrink wraps.
I like to think those wires were someone's idea of maintenance and not off the shelf from the boat builder (Sea Hunt) :yak5:
