Navionics has gotten rid of the google overlay.
The only options now are the cr"Apple maps" which show nothing!
In their email reply to me this is the only option at this time.
I will be asking for a refund if that's the case as this is not the same app I bought!
Smart more navionics, smart move!

Before with google maps

And now with apple maps

Don't they have a bathymetric option for your area with their platinum series? Pricey, I'm sure, but it should be very useful.

Unfortunately, that option does not exist for Vineyard Sound which makes their stuff disappointing for me.

The Problem I have is that I've already paid for this one.
For some, reason they must be having a spat with google, they've decided to change it.
I can still cross check the navionics app with the google earth app, but that requires switching back and forth between apps. Plus google earth only gets a fix on you if you have cell signal. Navionics does not need cell signal to get a fix on your position.

Yeah, I wonder if someone has the app on an Android platform and if it still overlays with Google. May be Apples fault and not Navionics.

On my Android with Navionics East I can get Google Maps overlay on anything >sea level.:smash::smash::smash:

I have seen what Freak is talking about and YES it is worth it! Too bad no longer available. It does have a flaw in that you need access to internet signal which we didn't have Sat approaching that wreck which showed on the map!:fury::fury:

Is it worth it even if it is not available?

I used it in the bar yesterday to check course and distance from Miami to Portsmouth. :hihi:

Has any one tried iNavx? Possibly the most comprehensive app for iNavX. A bit pricey but worth the extra $$$.

Copy & paste from their email

Mike,

It is not possible to revert back to the Google Maps if you are using the current iOS version. With the newest iOS versions, Apple devices are no longer using Google Maps, but their own Apple Maps. Navionics Mobile Apps on devices with older iOS versions are still using the Google Maps.

If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to ask.
