997,869 #'s divided by 22# avg. = 45,358 X (amt. of eggs) = :smash:

I guess 997,869 looks better than saying 1 million lbs. of striped bass!

You guys are all glass half empty types, huh? I could understand the outrage if it was an increase in quota, but it's a decrease. At least it's going in the right direction.

Were is the decrease??
2012 ...1,057,783 pound quota + 15% overage = 1,216,450 pounds
2013....Following a 15% quota overage in 2012, the Massachusetts commercial striped bass fishery will operate under a reduced quota of 997,869 pounds in 2013.

15% of 1,057,783 is 158,667, so 2013 should be 899,116 pounds!! It is an actual Increase!

Your math isn't real good. The quota is a decrease. 997,869 is less than 1,057,783.

He's operating on the theory that last year's overage should be deducted from this year's quota by the same percentage---15%.

What an fn shame. Big brother sure sucks..........
Can't justify the expense of a trip for three fish. I will eat my dogs food before I'd ever pay the insane price from the fish monger for "fresh" old fish.
Man I hate being on a leash !
