What else. seems whenever i hit the lathe everything comes out darters. these two turned from batu- a denser version of mahogany- swam the same as the maple ones i've turned. (medium zig - say 6-10" swing each way, maybe 16"-24" depth at a slow to medium retrieve)
my maple darters this size weigh in at 1.5oz unrigged- these tip the scales at 1.6
i'm hoping that batu with it's more consistent grain, will be less tempermental than maple. so far so good and the wood was free.
