Its Summer beer season already..

I have Brooklyn Summer and Harpoon Summer in the fridge now. I like them both... perhaps with the edge going to Brooklyn.

What Summer brews do you guys like?

For summer beers Shipyard is pretty good, Harpoon as well. I think the Gansett is really nice too.

hmmm, i've been having an occasional Corona (wife's beer)
with no headaches experienced afterwards...

side stepping the BULL (ingredient) with my red cape
that causes me migraines is a difficult dance ...

previously only resorting to wine, vodka or rum

Narragansett Summer Ale was the sneakiest good beer of the last summer for me. And comes in tall boy 6'rs, and isnt expensive, and its quite good

They sell out of it within a couple days every time they get a delivery at my local shop.

I think it's pretty good, and also like that it comes in cans. I try not to drink bottles outside, especially around the concrete pool area.

I had a Sam Summer last night and it seems like they did a nice job with it this year. I had the Harpoon last week and it was pretty good, but not as good as the Sam. Still a bunch more out there to try.

Picked up a 6 pack of Summer Swelter from Baxter Brewing Company last night on the recommendation of the girl at my local store. Not bad, but definitely not my favorite summer brew. It had a little too strong of a wheat influence for my taste, but other than that was pretty good. The citrus wasn't too overpowering, which was good. That being said, I'm still gong with Sam Summer as my favorite summer brew that I've had this year so far.

Beware reccomendations from liqueur store staff. More often than not I have seen them try to reccomend slow moving product.

Depends on the Liquor store.....If you have a good rapport with a store lots of times their recommendations are real.

gotta remember too, that just because you didn't like it doesn't mean they didn't like it....and their recommendation is based on what they think.

This one had just come in and they had a tasting last weekend with it. She said the response was positive and her husband really likes it. I shouldn't have trusted him, though. He's a vegetarian.

Switching over to Coronas soon. No limes though, nothing wakes you up in the middle of the night like acid reflux.

recently, Allagash Tripel. Thinking I may go the Tripel and Saison route for a while depending on what I can find in CT or at Julio's. Would be nice to find good stuff in small bottles, but not so easy to do.

A number of pretty strong beers in that list. Orval? Tank 7? Flower Power?

Funny they even mention Einbecker Mai-Ur-Bock. Several years ago a friend who was managing a packy was given a mini-keg from the distributor. I can't tell you if the evening ended good or bad as I don't remember it ;)

I think it has to be Saison DuPont. Still working my way down the list, but DuPont will likely keep the number one spot. Pretty easy to find, but a bit pricey especially in a four pack. Worth it though.
