Also fished hard on Sunday. No flatties to be found, few small bass. Birds working on micro bait.

Had some decent number of black backs this weekend with a few yellowtail mixed in. Largest was to 17. Skates weren't too bad. No signs of bass on the surface like there were last week.

There are piles of macs right out by the groaner.

How the heck did you manage to catch yellowtail? I have never heard of a reliable report of yellowtail caught on a hook! You must have been fishing in some very deep water?

When do you guys think macs will come in closer, like say in the harbors so I can catch em from my kayak (sorry I don't have the balls to paddle out to the groaner!)

No Balls to go to the groaner in a kayak...here is the secret...... put a bright orange glove on your hand...when ya go over board make sure U put the glove hand straight up....when the coastguard does a fly by in 3 days they will locate UUUUU....:) :) only kidding.

Since U R in the harbor go along the western shore out from the bridge towards the green bouy at dolliver neck...just go around in a circle..... or out from ten lb towards the paint factory.

Slick just isn't very good at fish ID. I would imagine they were actually scup.

we catch a few yellow tail each year when fishing in Glo harbor. Planning of hitting it again over the next few days and will post photos, if we get any.

Scup my ass.

No boat for me but plenty of bass with some bigger ones (40") in the mix throughout the harbor and pouring out of the river too. Pretty finicky about eating my artificial offerings inside the cut bridge but as soon as two boats sat in front of me with live macs, it was instant fish-on for them. Kevin, lemme know if you can get some fresh macs (not many in the inner harbor) as it is indeed "twitch time"

I will try Paul. The only ones I've been able to get my hands on have been partially digested!

Not me. A couple of old Italian guys climb out there and soak chunks every low tide. They do well at times with some big bass. I have not fished chunks in years. Prefer to use whole dead bait and twitch t in the current as a lure. Love watching huge fish attack. Never heard that beach called Crab Beach. Kevin has some great video from a few years ago when a huge school of spike mackerel got stuck in there when the tide went out. Epic. Link Kevin?
