caught in Nova Scotia yesterday. 23 inches longer than current record
View Full Version : 77 inches, not confirmed redcrbbr 05-29-2013, 12:18 PM caught in Nova Scotia yesterday. 23 inches longer than current record Canalman 05-29-2013, 12:20 PM To me, that's a no doubt photoshop job and it's not even a good one... but I'm not a digital imaging expert so who knows. redcrbbr 05-29-2013, 12:40 PM if it is legit we should hear about it very shortly, agree with the poor pic quality Nebe 05-29-2013, 12:43 PM To me, that's a no doubt photoshop job and it's not even a good one... but I'm not a digital imaging expert so who knows. this fish is legit.. :buds: Saltheart 05-29-2013, 12:48 PM That is a funky picture! Could be real , time will tell. :) Ian 05-29-2013, 12:56 PM I am just speculating, but a few things have me calling this bluff: That chick is holding onto the heavy end of a 100lb fish and looks way too comfortable There are no other pictures than this grainy one. In this day and age where a gopro can capture 4k images in a package smaller than most point and shoot cameras, I would think there would not only be more images, but higher quality ones too. piemma 05-29-2013, 12:58 PM I am just speculating, but a few things have me calling this bluff: That chick is holding onto the heavy end of a 100lb fish and looks way too comfortable There are no other pictures than this grainy one. There was a rumor about this fish floating around Sunday. I was at a cookout and one of my nephews told me he heard about a bass that was longer than the world record but only weighed 55#. Jackbass 05-29-2013, 01:07 PM If it was a record fish it would be all over the place by now. As far as the graininess of it. I have taken pictures in a misty environment that I hoped would come out but with an af lense the focus gets all messed up simply due to it has no idea what to focus on. And most don't play with the settings to adjust for ambient light and atmospheric conditions. Regardless if it is real it is a whopper Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Ian 05-29-2013, 01:09 PM The picture just doesn't look real... I can't put my finger on why though. Her hand all the way to the right of the photo has a lot to do with it. She doesn't seem to me supporting much... neither does his on the other side, which has their middle hands supporting the majority of a beast of a fish. I kinda want this to be real, but I want more pics to drool over if it is! puppet 05-29-2013, 01:11 PM To me, that's a no doubt photoshop job and it's not even a good one... but I'm not a digital imaging expert so who knows. hahaha.... That fish has some paste on hands. I will join in...... Giant Barred Surf Perch. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h240/puppetFish/IMG_0296Perch.jpg JohnR 05-29-2013, 01:12 PM I would love to believe this is real and will hold (most) of my opinion but the picture looks shopped to me too Rockfish9 05-29-2013, 01:13 PM There was alot of the same talk when Meyers got his fish... my thing is.. look how much sand is on the fish.. and they are in a muddy marsh full of grass..time will tell all... rapidfflow0 05-29-2013, 01:20 PM There was a rumor about this fish floating around Sunday. I was at a cookout and one of my nephews told me he heard about a bass that was longer than the world record but only weighed 55#. That wasn't a rumor it was caught on a boat in nj by a young lady trolling a bunker spoon. Fish was 3" longer than myersons but had just spawned and weighed 56lbs. Pic is easy to find on the web Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device MikeD 05-29-2013, 01:22 PM Rod looks funky, it disappears over the fish by his right shoulder. Haha, that perch pic looks legit though. Haus 05-29-2013, 01:22 PM not real FishermanTim 05-29-2013, 01:36 PM Not real (in my view). Fish that size would have their hands pushing more in from the belly. Funny how the rod goes from in front of his thigh but behind his shoulder??? The surf perch look legit too!!! shadow 05-29-2013, 01:41 PM The thing with this picture is you can see his forearm at the rear of the fish, a fish smaller then that should be resting on his forearm not in his palm. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Canalman 05-29-2013, 01:45 PM Not to mention, when you hold something heavy you don't splay your fingers out like you're trying to catch a roast beef sandwich! You hold them together to help support the weight. Further, there is no dark shadow on their bodies from the flash and the fish would have to be frozen for them to hold the belly with virtually no sag like that... it's seems so obvious... and I think his index finger and middle finger are the same finger pasted on twice... but what do I know. https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/302942_10151394197878372_1203203796_n.png MikeD 05-29-2013, 02:00 PM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWn0lxRNqos Should have watched these to learn a few tricks. Some people find this crap funny...me not so much........ timmah 05-29-2013, 04:05 PM I got one too. PRBuzz 05-29-2013, 04:08 PM Maybe the only thing to believe in are those e-mails which go to SPAM folder saying this guy from Nigeria has $25 million to give me? Canalman 05-29-2013, 04:28 PM Here's my 91-pounder caught last week... this took me 20 minutes... :devil2: JohnR 05-29-2013, 04:55 PM I got one too. :rotf2: Canalman 05-29-2013, 05:15 PM I got one too. Judging by the beard, you caught that one on PEI PRBuzz 05-29-2013, 05:45 PM Here's my 91-pounder caught last week... this took me 20 minutes... :devil2: Probably took a $20 Walmart white rod special to reel it in to! :rotf2: Circlehook 05-29-2013, 07:12 PM There are no other pictures than this grainy one. I keep saying the same thing about Sasquatch, UFO's and my buddy's girlfriend. I can take excellent photos in pitch black, at moving targets with my phone but nothing that ever seems unreal is ever taken cleanly. Funny how the rod goes from in front of his thigh but behind his shoulder??? The surf perch look legit too!!! That's was what gave it away to me. Go out and try to lift something that heavy while you have a fishing rod pinned between your arm and the side of your body. Why would anyone even try? Rockport24 05-29-2013, 08:18 PM Ha! I would be more likely to believe Dave's pic than the original one! Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device seadogg 05-29-2013, 08:56 PM Phony. Convincing at first glance, but totally freakin' fake. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device wdmso 05-30-2013, 04:49 AM whats the water temp in Nova Scotia Bar Harbor, ME Station ID: 8413320 Recent Water Temperature: 47.8°F and is that a river or a stream and i would think that fish would have spooled that reel Would be cool if it was reel I meant real Noticed the dorsal fin is up ? MakoMike 05-30-2013, 07:53 AM Proven fake! redcrbbr 05-30-2013, 10:51 AM I was 99% sure that it was a fake, but having that 1% chance that it could have been real I held back on ripping this guy and the pic out of courtesy. Now we all get to see how fast this guy turns into one of the biggest internet #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&s.
