Can anyone help me pick out a Bike Rack for my hitch, looking for something that will hold 2 canal bikes w/ baskets, a decent locking system (bikes and to truck), and folds down w/ bikes on to access tailgate. It gets confusing looking online, looking for some first hand experience, Thanks.

Was looking at Yakimas earlier. Which model do you have?

I've got a Yakima Bighorn 4 on the back of the camper. It just about fits 2 cruisers with baskets. It folds down when you pull a pin, but I never use that with my application. It's a little on the heavy side, and one of the top support bars seems to have gotten bent somehow (doesn't effect function). Lists for $200, I got it for 1/2 price during a Sports Authority sale.

Whichever bike rack you choose beware of the alignment at the weld point between the lower horizontal bar coming from the hitch and the vertical bar. If these two bars at this intersection are not perfectly aligned then the top end of the vertical bar will be off centered or slanted.

mine is an older 2 bike model- works with 2 canal bikes with baskets, tight fit.

I just bought a Thule 4 bike rack. Seemed to me that you'd need the 4 if you had two canal bikes with the biggest baskets.
Liking my rack so far.

Kuat NV is the best hitch rack on the market... 20 years in the industry is the basis for my opinion.

Buy an Xterra, rear cargo area has built in uni-strut that you can mount a bike to.

I have a Bell 4 bike rack got it for 99 bucks at Wal-Mart. although it doesn’t lock the bikes in but cant beat the price. it also swings down to load the bike but dont really need that feature it is easier just to pick the bike up. In my opinion dont by the name brand by the product you need and you can use what you save to buy more fishing gear
