View Full Version : Ouch!
Really sucks to be this guy. took the corner to head to ramp and it looked like his front post ripped off trailer.
I feel for you bro....

blaruffa 06-19-2013, 01:54 PM Sucks, I bet next time he'll put some transom straps on his boat to help avoid that issue.
PRBuzz 06-19-2013, 03:27 PM That doesn't even look like a roller trailer, bunks!
Raven 06-19-2013, 03:57 PM hard to tell how far she slid on the pavement
yeah, those must have been some slick bunks. And you can see he didn't slide far. here is a pic from the stop sign where he would have stopped, then made the turn. The boat ramp lot is up ahead of his truck 20 yards on the right.
its not like you can really whip around the corner there. i mean you at least sort of have to come to a stop. and i doubt he has a serious hole shot with that thing in tow. crazy!

Too fast
Too sharp corner
Too many Buds
Too bad
Galilee ramp at Great Island bridge. RI. Yesterday around noon.
Bow strap wouldn't have helped. Transom straps probably would have.
I really don't think speed or taking the corner was the issue. I think equipment failure + improperly securing the boat were at fault... but who knows.
It'll buff out

Must have been confident not to use safety straps..
RIJIMMY 06-20-2013, 01:19 PM good thing no car was directly behind him or kids on bikes. Crazy stuff.

bow strap goes to the trailer frame, not the winch post, so it would have helped.
TheReelThing 06-21-2013, 08:00 AM It does not look like he had the proper trailer. It's hard to tell because the guy is in the way, but the trailer does not look like it has the center part that a catamaran trailer should have. The center part helps guide the boat onto the trailer and keeps it from sliding sideways. Without this, the boat is just essentially sitting on the bunks, kind of like how it is sitting on the pavement. It would not take much for it to slide off.
gf2020 06-27-2013, 05:25 AM Trailer definitely looks odd. Like a converted pontoon boat trailer or something. What's that saying? You can't fix stupid.
