View Full Version : If you owned a Liqour Store....
The Dad Fisherman 06-24-2013, 12:19 PM What 6 Microbrews would you bring in? Looking for some different brewers/beers that people like.
My wife has been given a little Carte Blanche on what beers to order for the Liqour store she works in and asked me for some Suggestions....basically because I've been giving her a little grief about kicking it up a notch at the store.
Not looking for some exotic beer that is only made by Midget Tibetan Monks on a certain peak in the East Himalayas :hihi:
Looking more for beers that people would tend to buy on a regular basis and is available around new england...doesn't have to be made in New England....just available. (I've been telling her to bring in more of the Stone Products)
onsetangler 06-24-2013, 12:49 PM Racer5, Lagunitas Maximus, Berkshire Lost Sailor and 21st Ammendment Monks Blood

Clogston29 06-24-2013, 02:03 PM anything from great divide, ballast point, alesmith, oscar blues
rphud 06-24-2013, 08:06 PM I like Josh's list. I would submit Russian River and Three Floyds for commercial stuff you just can't get round here. Stuff that is around but hard to find would be Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project and the anything you can get Founders to ship out east here.
Buzzards bay IPA
Ithaca flower power
Harpoon leviathan IPA
Westmalle Tripel

zimmy 06-24-2013, 09:22 PM 5 breweries: Firestone walker, boulder, green flash, New England brewing( if distributed there), north coast brewing
5 beers: Firestone double jack, boulder hazed and infused, green flash west coast ipa, New England ghandi bot, north coast old Rasputin
I would also add Russian river stuff, but they don't really distribute east coast much

The Dad Fisherman 06-25-2013, 07:24 AM This is good stuff....keep it coming. I deally I would like to give my wife a list of a dozen or so brewers they don't carry and a couple of choices from each brewer.
The woman who used to order the beer is a wine drinker and could give 2 chits about beer...now that my wife is going to be ordering more beer I can make some suggestions....would love to see the store kick it up a notch on their beer selections.
Zimmy....good stuff...a few of those are definitely do-able as they are distributed through Seaboard, which supplies the store.
If Lagunitas puts Sucks on full year rotation it should be in every liquor store everywhere... heck... even put it in non-liquor stores... candy stores!
I'm not an objective source on the other 4, I'm a hop head.
PRBuzz 06-25-2013, 09:31 AM 2nd zimmy's North Coast suggestion!
Oh yeah> there's this VT brewery that sells and tells you to drink beer in the can...;)

Youre not confusing Opa and Northampton brew are you? Opa Opa is actually in Southampton. I like their beers for the most part but not on my "repeat list" that much.
Now if you are talking Northampton Brewery thats a different story. Unfortunately I dont think they bottle....they just sell at the brewery
I meant Opa Opa in Southampton.
The brewery in northampton is very good. Was there last fall.

zimmy 06-25-2013, 08:50 PM any victory is good. any founders is good, but the all day ipa is classic. so much good beer. six point. heavy seas. pretty much everything suggested in this thread would be good for the store.

Sea Dangles 06-28-2013, 02:01 PM Anything by Victory or Ommegang, just picked up Game of Thrones by the latter.
fishbones 06-28-2013, 02:10 PM Dangles, do you ever go to Independent Liquors on 106? They just started carrying Lagunitas Sucks. Thye don't have a big selection of micros, but they have some that you wouldn't expect. I still like Pop's better, though.
