Thought I would start a thread with listings of events during the 4th of July weekend so folks here know what is going on in different towns.

Here in Marblehead, we have the Marblehead Festival of Arts. Festival Events | Marblehead Festival of Arts (http://marbleheadfestival.org/events/events.html)
Lots of art on display, kids events, street theater, live concerts at Crocker Park overlooking the main harbor, and of course the fireworks and harbor illumination.

Most years I have folks visit during this event as I don't have to entertain... There is plenty for them to pick and choose from to entertain themselves and they can come and go as they please. This year, we already have a full house with both sides of our family traveling to stay with us. (I get the couch and the better half gets the blow up air mattress for a few nights...) Some of them are already posturing for their times to get out fishing on my boat! Going to be a great family time, and we have been busy sprucing up the outside deck, painting Adirondack chairs, trim, railings, yard and gardens. It all gets going on Wed July 3rd for me as I get to proudly watch my daughter receive the Best in Show award for her drawing submission!

So lots to do for a couple, family, or the singles. The town is hopping, the bars and restaurants are full. We often can hear the music from my house. And the fireworks are annually ranked as one of the great places to see them. Tides are actually good this year if you come by boat. So that's what I've got....
