The Celts traded Paul Pierce to the Nets along with Garnett....Pretty good haul for the Celtics though in the trade...chitload of Draft picks....

Where ever he ends up , his number will be retired in Boston when he retires. Ainge believes the Celts should have traded Bird near the end of his career. He is just following that same line of thought with Pierce and Garnett. If the Celts had traded Bird like Ainge wanted , there would have been a revolt in the streets. Now a days I guess this kind of wheeling and dealing , regardless of the players history with the team, is common place. :(

5 years ago I might have been one of those revolting but I'm OK with it these days.
