i have been using an nrs endurance splash jacket which i like but they are not very durable and i have basically been going through one a season before a big leak/tear develops...i do however fish every day so they do get abused but was wondering if y'all had any recommendations for a more durable but breathable and lightweight-ish top?

Level 6 drytops are great I have the superior and the reign and have been really happy with both. They have a ton of jackets to choose from and have been good to deal with

I like my Guy Cotton top alot. Takes a serious beating.

Alantis makes a few I have one of there's and I like it as much as my old Simms top it does not have a hood which does not matter to me. For a hood I also have a guy cotton top that I like.

Way better than an aquaskinz top. Much more breathable, of the 3 different tops I have, its the one I always wear.

I love my Guy Cotten as well. Had mine about 5 seasons and aside from the eel slime and odor, it is in great shape. Built like a tank and I like the front pocket. I have the model w the adjustable wrist seams which is nice and allows for good range of motion. It's not a full dry top but it keeps me very dry when wearing waders. For long walks, I just take it off and walk without it.

The Endurance was never meant to be a dry-top.And if you're going thru 1 a year you must have the newer models that don't have the front zipper chest pocket?

I certainly don't fish everyday anymore but my original Endurance is going on close to 10yrs.NRS has increased the price while decreasing the quality of that particular top.

yup...no front zipper, just zipper along the sleeve...and yes it is more of a splash kayak jacket than a true dry top but great lightweight gear for the summer months...just sick of wasting the money essentially getting one a season...but i do fish a lot...thinking of the ones mentioned above as well as the simms surf top (although discontinued, i have found one for around $200)...
