The thing's comfortable and easy to move around a lot it in. The fact is they can save your life, and having one locked in a cubby doesn't do much if you wind up in the water. I definitely recommend using one whether alone or otherwise. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device macojoe 07-11-2013, 11:33 AM Just makes it easier for them to find the BODY!! Rockfish9 07-11-2013, 02:13 PM Auto inflate for me....... my only gripe might be that every so often I catch the emergency rip cord on something..but I've never set it off... Mr. Sandman 07-11-2013, 02:55 PM I wear an auto inflatable belt when I am alone ,also have a wireless kill switch clipped on to it. When I am with others I don't wear one. But auto inflatables are available if someone wants one I think I have 6 on-board. Kids all wear auto inflatables or type III vests. I also have a type I for everyone on board, some are stowed above deck and some below deck. Also, Survival suits are stowed but when going offshore they are in the bunk area 1 for each on board. Finally 6 man life raft solas A auto inflatable 2 Eprips (1 on boat and one in ditchbag), ditchbag full of stuff including sat phone, vhf, gps, meds, flairs, etc. Finally....I have one DOG pfd that has a handle on it for fetching the pooch out of the drink...rated for dogs to 60# I know, it is insane. denis 07-12-2013, 10:49 AM Auto inflatable when I'm alone. Clammer 07-12-2013, 01:48 PM your full of it :smash: likwid 07-13-2013, 06:10 AM Hydrostatic with PLB when solo. MakoMike 07-13-2013, 07:57 AM Use some common sense, makes a lot more sense to wear one when you're in a 13 foot skiff than when you're on a 50 foot sportfisherman. OLD GOAT 07-13-2013, 01:57 PM I wear a manual pfd because I fall in a lot getting to the boat vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
