My fish/depth finder just went screwy on me. Told me I had 150' of water in my slip. Come to find out I had barnacles on the bottom of the transducer along with a calcium/algae build up. Kind of suprised me as I run almost everyday.
My marina manager asked if I painted the transducer with transducer paint. I hadn't ever heard of this. Anyway, he is pulling the boat while I'm away on business and cleaning/painting the transducer. He gave me a little bottle of transducer paint for next year.

Yes, I use MDR transducer paint on both through hull and transome mount transducers.......Has worked real well for me.

yup. although any waterbased anti-foul paint is supposed to be OK.

MDR; 3 thin coats has worked well for me

I used copolymer anti fouling for years and vinyl antifouling before that on my through hull. I think only issue is it needs to be a hard paint , no bubbles or soft porous stuff.
