I had the commute from hell coming home from Lexington today.
I knew it would be bad when just before I left, Proffessor calls me with a report of how great of a day fishing he had :wall: and I couldn't find my damn keys for the whole 20 minute conversation, they were between the seats like where Paul said he loses his there a lot.
As I drove over the overpass to get on 128 I saw the parking lot 4:30PM

did not get to rt 24 until 6: freaking 30 :smash:
another half hour from there still

that highway sucks, one drop of rain and everyone forgets how to drive

Well, with all the video-game driving school graduates, you know the ones who think nothing about driving 80 in the right lane/breakdown lane and shift lanes while talking on the phone or texting, (all without using their hands!!!) well it's a miracle there aren't more accidents (other than the ones they cause and drive away from).

Pay attention next time you drive south on 128 and as you pass 24S or the Braintree split, and see how many a-holes are in the wrong lanes to take the exit, yet expect EVERYONE else to get out of their way while they make a 3-lane crossover to take the exit at 80 mph.

It drives me crazy at the increaing amount of wreckless driving I see daily. Between the OUI drivers (that includes phone use), the "I just got my license but never learned to drive" group and the I learned how to drive by wasting my life playing video games and this is my third car I've wrecked this year" losers it makes you wonder why you ever leave your house???

Hey could be worse, you could live in Salem, the traffic capital of the north shore! :wall: you know they just closed the commuter rail parking lot for renovations and they don't have the swing lot open yet? that's been great for the traffic!

128 north of the Mass Pike is a slaughter house. I hate driving up there except late at night when traffic is much lighter.

I had a good laugh this morning heading south on 128 just after the Rte 24 merge.
Seems there was a woman driver that needed to drive faster and more wreckless than any of the hundreds of other cars around her.
At one point she zipped in between me and the SUV behind me with very little room to spare. I mean it was a real race-car move.
The driver then decided that I wasn't moving fast enough so she tried to pass to my left....2 cars to my left (2 lane shift at 70) but was blocked by another car. By now the SUV she cut off pulled along side me and back a little, effectively creating a 3 car block (not intentional).
Well she shifted lanes AGAIN and ended up behind the SUV she had cut off in the beginning.

All this "action" did not escape the eyes of the state trooper that pulled up behind her and pulled her over.

I laughed my arse off all the way to work!

I love it! Gotcha.......
One thing that burns me is when reckless drivers put my life in jeopardy with those sort of moves

that's awesome.

This is really one of the reasons why I could never live on the south shore! Sure we have traffic up north, but it's not even close to that bad..

It would come as no surprise to me if they did a study of drivers today under the age of 30 and found that most learned to drive from watching video games (Grand Theft Auto for example).
Oh, they may have taken driver's ed or had someone take them driving to learn the basics needed to pass the test, but they "learned" about driving skills and ettiquette from video games. How else could you account for the increased numbers of speeding incidents and accidents in younger drivers? Then add the fun of texting while driving and you have potential unguided missiles on the roads.

Oh, and I really appreciate the mental prowess of the 2-3 lane jumpers that weren't paying attention to their exits. Hell, that's what they made brakes for, RIGHT???

I love my commute in the morning...barely a car on the road. 3 states in 30 Minutes :hee:

Hey Bruce,

It's you South Shore guys coming up here that mess up our otherwise serene traffic patterns. :rotf2:

it's even more fun in a freezing rain/ice storm
turning your car into some sort of ice sculpture....

95 north is getting almost as bad as the southshore on Friday's...one Friday took me 3 hrs. to go to Maine that normally takes 1 1/2 hrs.

I passed a rather large Moo Moo wearing woman on 3a in Hingham putting on make up while speeding down the road, think Mimi from the Drew Carey show. What a waste of time.

i have extreme difficulty managing the range of motion dedicated to stop and go traffic.... with my right ankle,
and have to avoid it at all costs EVEN if i have to drive "twice as long" on back roads at a steady 40 mph.
