Good sized ones too. Not as thick as last year, yet. But the crowds on the public docks are shoulder to shoulder......

The Dad Fisherman 07-29-2013, 08:34 PM Sweet.....I'll have to see if they are up off the base like last year. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Goose 07-29-2013, 08:37 PM :call: Rockport24 08-01-2013, 10:24 AM I need to get some this year! closest I got last year was when I had a squid attack a live mack, actually pulling on the baitrunner! Rockfish9 08-01-2013, 10:32 AM I need to get some this year! closest I got last year was when I had a squid attack a live mack, actually pulling on the baitrunner! I said the same thing..last year and agian this season... even brought "gear" capable of catching them last night... and of coarse... none to be had... maybe the hord of 33 1/2" fish ( my guess the ones that got filtered, as alot had already been hooked) along the beach front had something to do with it....no snapper/cocktail blues either...the night before.. i could have walked on the bait there was so much... I may try this week end to anchor up over deeper structure hang a lantern over the side ( like we did to catch saw belly herring when I was a kid) and try a little squiddin'.. nightfighter 08-07-2013, 08:58 PM So much for that.... No Fishing signs went up on all public docks here today.... Be interesting to see how this plays out. Issues I've heard discussed are; Parking problems due to squidders New docks, paid for from mooring fees trashed with ink Trash left on grounds, pier and neighborhood Someone took a crap in park next to pier Rockport24 08-08-2013, 08:55 AM Are you kidding me? that is just really really unfortunate. It's always a few bad apples... I was going to try to get out there in the next few days as well as I have friends coming in from out of town and would have loved to give them a nice calamari appetizer! Sounds like I'll be hitting the store :( N.ShoreFisher 08-08-2013, 09:22 AM I took about 40 squid over 1 ft long the other night. If anyone feels like coming out one of these nights, PM me. They've been huge in Gloucester. All the guys next to me were a little pissed that they were just dropping and catching the little guys. I like to fish my yo-zuri jigs like a plug. I might not get the hundreds like all the other guys, but it does get the attention of the big boys! marc.l 08-08-2013, 10:02 AM Salem willows has been good, even by day. thefishingfreak 08-08-2013, 10:05 AM AL's bait & tackle in beverly fought the no fishing nazis and won. Anyone who wishes the no fishing signs come down I would suggest you contact him to see how it's done. He is on FB as well Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device JackK 08-08-2013, 11:09 AM My GF wants to try her hand at catching fresh calamari- if anyone knows a not-banned spot feel free to PM me. First stop will likely be Spinn's smelting standard, though. Rockport24 08-08-2013, 11:46 AM I think you are OK up there on the other cape, I believe Ross is talking about mhead proper... If I wasn'y going to be in Pennsylvania this weekend I would take you up to the base and fish at the Marina....absolutely no crowds up there. RickBomba 08-09-2013, 04:45 AM So much for that.... Ch.4 nightfighter 08-21-2013, 01:32 PM I think the signs are scaring away the boaters, too. TDF and I had the ocean to ourselves last night under the Blue Moon.... I mean, no one was out fishing or even cruising around.... It was a real nice night too. Saw a couple rocks that aren't often visible....up close. And the bugs were out a little. Rockport24 08-21-2013, 02:09 PM Did the fish return or what? nightfighter 08-21-2013, 02:15 PM They were there, and we found a few. Wasn't lights out fishing and they were a little smaller than the past nights, but was good as long as you weren't using a circle hook...... Rockport24 08-21-2013, 02:19 PM Cool. Gonna try the before work shift tomorrow... The Dad Fisherman 08-21-2013, 03:02 PM but was good as long as you weren't using a circle hook...... Yeah, we can consider the book closed on that experiment... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
