Fished yesterday at the Commercial Bass crowd. Never saw so many boats in a small group. We had Tuna gear on board trolled off chatham earlier. Caught a Bluefish using a small Diamond Jig with a BallyHoo Chunk as an enticer.
Cleaned and ate the Blufish last night.

The fleet is about half of what it was during the first week.

Got to be one of the dambdest things you'll ever see! And I thought the bank got crowded,,, knuckle heads running over everyone's lines,,, that's if you can find enough room to troll,,, got there before daybreak and it looked like we where being invaded by bow lights from all point of the compass. Off days for me now!
I recall seeing a boat motor thru with the tuna gear sticking out of the T top,,,, nice rig!
Half!!! Good God,,,, I don't have the stomach for sitting in the middle of that maylay,,, It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
Went to the south and had plenty fun and sold a couple,,,,,
Here's a funny,,, I left Smugglers so early I thought the quota was full,,,, not a trailer in the lot,, LOL

A few years ago I was fishing with a friend of mine for the season and we would get in 30-35 boat drifts up against certain islands that run in a chain south of Woods Hole. Never had much of a problem. Just the googans yelling and screaming becase everybody was hooking up and they weren't. I am sure trolling is a real show.

Not sure but I know a few lobstermen that don't even set traps anymore. They are making better money dog fishing.

Paying pennies. Not even worth going and no ones buying. They are thick and everywhere but there are issues with the quality

I went for the 1st time Tuesday went out thru the new short cut.. seals lined up eating sand eels as the tide pushed them by. hit the fleet everyone was fishing dimond jigs ,and not very productive for the amount of lines in the water . moved a bit closer to the pot line and watched the wire guys for a bit . I said in an early post , I was surprised they have electric reels, I would think that would be not allowed its almost to effecent
it was a site it see not sure I'll do it again it was far from an epic day of fishing

Once you fish electric reels you will never want to snap wire without them again. As far as being sporting you have to remember that this is a commercial fishery. It is just a tool that makes the job more efficient.
