The important question is where do these fish go once they leave said canal and the mayhem. I have a theory that I have heard more than once, but have unfortunately yet to confirm. Maybe this week.....maybe.

I can only hear so much 30 pound mono slapping through guides, clumsy oafs sliding down rock embankments, bikes falling over smashing the rods on the pavement and watching people do battle with 28 inch fish for more than 15 minutes!:smash:

Not crowded where I was. Too many guys were chaseing yesterdays reports instead of fishing where the tides should put yah. Got three couple 20 lbers and dropped two. Very small window and not on top at all.

Don't listen to them Paul. I think they mean me and besides George thinks the canal is in Panama and Lawrence fishes jigs and rubber on dacron and luvs fishing in intimate all male groupings.

25 lb test? Rookies...

I shouldn't mention this but Paul's canal secret is the Sicilian Reverse Tippet.

3 feet of 60 then 3 feet of 50 then 6 feet of 40 then 2 feet of 30 then 4.7564 feet of 20 then a hen's spread of 10 then a Jack Palance of 5 followed by 20 yards of 1 lb test and as much Fireline as his custom 704 will hold.

One night on Block Island he was tying blood knots in his sleep talking about snails crawling on straight razors.

It is what it is down there. Cliche I know. If you don't like the gatherings don't fish first light.

Spence part of the reverse Sicilian is also a pinch of semolina rolled onto cat gut in a pasta machine and adhered with your last victims tears and mucus. It so I have heard. I personally use a full bolognese leader. The recipe for which is a family secret. Those that know know for a reason.

Felis ala chitara con semilono.

As an aside, I make a wickedly good bolognese.

A meat bomb but it was great. Nothing like comfort food when you're gassed.

I'll take your wife alright..........right to the canal so she can grab you by the ear and drag your lazy ass right back to that cottage you're supposedly hard at work fixing up. That ought to help the parking problem a touch.

Why would it take 15 minutes for a barely legal fish? Even on my small light tackle rods, 3 minutes max.
