Anyone ever see sores on an eel like this? Can I catch it - Hope not. I wasn't about to not rig this beast.

I'm not sure what it is but a few years ago I got ring worm on the side of my leg and the only thing I could relate it to was an eel with sores like you see in your pics had hit the side of my leg when I was transferring them to my big tank. parker23 10-03-2013, 05:43 AM I have used eels w/sores and thankfully, never gotten sick from the rash. The rigged eel looks sweet! IMHO, they come from rubbing against the inside of the keeper they are in... I've seen large eels eat ( tail sticking out of thier mouths)smaller ones on many ocasions when left in a keeper for exteneded amount of time...their noses also tend to get beat up causing what I term "weak beak" syndrome, which makes them suseptable to being cast into the horizen as live chum... Liv2Fish 10-03-2013, 07:49 AM I've seen rashes and injuries from the tank/carrier too but these are perfectly round and all of them are raised. They bled pretty bad when I was rigging it. Mostly when inserting the rear hook. Definitely going to pick up some surgical gloves before rigging more. WESTPORTMAFIA 10-03-2013, 08:23 AM It's normal. I've seen those sores but always assumed they were from eels biting each other. spence 10-03-2013, 08:30 AM LOL. Thanks! He speaks from experience, please heed his words...
