CHARLESTOWN, R.I. - A morning fishing trip could have turned deadly for a Charlestown man whose truck simply got stuck in the sand.
NBC 10 spoke with one of the officers who arrived on the scene first. Lt. Pat McMahon said he just can't believe the size of the flames he saw shooting from the truck when he first pulled up.

God sends a plague to RI every Monday through Friday when I go to work in Providence.

Probably needed a new truck.

Either that or the guy probably had some body parts he needed to dispose of. Flames look a bit robust for a normal overheating fire.

I still shake my head at what goes on there....RI is the only place I lived where you hear stuff on the radio like this: Today, police pulled over a car on I-95 outside prov for speeding. Police searched the vehicle and found 2 pair of hands in the trunk. One pair belonged to a women. WTF?!?

nice. well, if they had flares in the truck, which are required by CRMC barrier beach permits, that fire will burn hot. i never carried them for that reason alone.
