The reason the ACA treats individuals differently is that they have a higher cost basis... -spence I agree with UUUU about the higher cost basis, but, some people were getting great coverage for less and go any place for treatment and now they R getting sticker shock and under Obama Care restricted to medical treatment in only their county....Cobra is not cheap....Under Obama some prices have gone above and beyond 10,000 for insurance....my company pays a lot more for my premium If U R restricted under Obama Care to only be able to seek medical in one's county most of us R screwed from going to Boston which is in Suffork County....so if one lives in Essex County or say Bristol County U can not go to Boston for healthcare. PaulS 11-07-2013, 10:00 AM They should look into getting insurance from the following http://www.freelancersunion.org/ Jackbass 11-07-2013, 02:29 PM That article is stupid! I am not a fan of the ACA. Regardless this couple earns just over 400% more than the federal poverty level of 62,xxx a year so these two married with no kids individuals earn over 248,000 a year and they are complaining about having to pay an additional 1420 dollars a year in premiums? Maybe she shouldn't be out to dinner with a friend and eating dinner at home? I realize cost of living in NYC is high. Maybe they should commute in? The argument is ridiculous. That would mean each individual would gross 150 dollars a week. Which even working part time would be less than federal minimum. Wow. That is hurting.
