I would like some input for a 11' Surf Rod - spinning

Looking for sweet spot of 1/2 oz. - 2 oz.

I have the 2-6, 2-5, 3-8 ounce covered. Need something for the lighter stuff.

I've seen 10'6'' with this rating but no 11'.

Any help would be great.

Thank you

Why do you need the extra foot? At that weight I wouldn't think you'd be using it in bigger surf anyway.

I like 11' rods. Just a preference. Throwing sluggo's or light bucktails. Maybe a 10' would do the trick. I am open for any suggestions.

Ron arra 1321-2 11' is rated 1-3oz

Century has the s1 11ft which is rated 1-4oz, but can throw 3/4 bucktails, you're welcome to try it if you want, also they make it in a 10ft

You could also look at some light carp rods, just have to figure out the test curve equation.

I know guys have used steel head rods to toss lighter stuff in the surf. May want to build a blank with salt water stuff on it but not sure it would make much of a difference. 1/2 - 2 is pretty light

An 11 ft rod for throwing slug-gos? I can't imagine going above a 9 ft MH to get the desired action most would want. I fished slug-gos religiously for a while and then tried with my 10 ft'er and couldn't stay in touch with the lure...

i have been using an11ft Arra,1321l for about 7 years now, probably haveover 350 nights on it.i fish 1/2 oz bucktails up to 2 oz needles with it.i rarely use any of my shorter rods.the rod was built with the last 3 guides being single foot.not sure if it makes a differance but i find the rod to be as fun catching 10 inch fish asit is catching large fish.

For a 1 piece i would check out the now discontinued Lami super surf 11'. I don't know the blank number, i really like the rod. Versatile, i use it for bucktail as light at 3/4 oz sluggos and plugs up to about 4 oz, kicks ass with eels also. Its a bigger water rod though and only throw it a few times a year as i prefer a 10' for most duties.

There was a reason why they were discontinued. They had a nasty habit of snapping a foot or so above the reel seat. You're one of the few I've heard of that didn't have theirs break.

I'd go with the time honored, tried and true GSB 132 1L.

I heard of the issues, im a lucky one i guess. I got mine second hand and i think it may have been a replacement for a busted one. Did they fix their issue with them before they were discontinued? I am looking for a blank.
