After almost four years of picking it up and putting it down, re-weighting, sanding, staring at it, a Nike I turned finally swam beautifully in the river this morning. It dove down against a small current and had a really nice wiggle. Will be turning some in AYC though as opposed to maple though. Keep down on the splitting. Two fatboys I have been working on, one a surfster and one a pikie passed muster as well. Both swam well. This is a larger version of the previous larger
version I turned that mirrors Bigfish's prey. Both sizes swim well now.

Finally someone did something with a plug. Been so slow in here I have resorted to trolling on the other site. Good to hear Frank. I prefer AYC for the Nikes too.

My lathe motor blew up, supposed to get it back with new motor tomorrow afternoon.... hopefully. Two weeks ago, it was supposed to be ready before Xmas. I can't wait for its return.

Hey Lawrence. Just got home from Mom in law's. I was busy this past week being off so I had time to do some turning. I too have some A-40's, Bluestreak style. Got some interest from the fish last year on them with George. Actually going to try a few Pichney A-40 Jr.'s too. Some large and med. dannies, some more Lido flaptails, they seem to disappear every year and I have never lost one. Some large and smallish darters and small poppers still to turn and a few med. Gibbs pencils, my best top water plug last year. Oh and a few large jointed Pichney's. For looking at a few bass aquas to finish up, after 3 years, for a friend, some Brad Norris needles and a couple one or two offs for fun. If I finish half of them I'll be happy.

Hey, It is clean again, that was last week. I clean constantly as my space is tight. I never put stuff back when I am working but when I'm done I do put everything back so I can mess it up again. I'm like that at work too. Organized mess.

Modified these needles from screwed eyed floaters to through wired slow, level sinkers. Epoxy sealed some of them yesterday. Light colored ones are maple and the dark ones are black walnut.

Off to a slow start, but glad to be at it again.

Turning them is easy ,, finishing them is the hard part. Once the fish show up I close up shop. Clock is ticking.

Nice needles Smac
