Swimmer 01-02-2014, 02:48 PM Young kid, outdoorsman, great athlete, apparently drowned while duck hunting. vineyardblues 01-02-2014, 03:11 PM I thought of Spud right away ..... he also duck hunts down in that area Godbless Raven 01-02-2014, 06:04 PM aw man.... this sucks... such adverse conditions too :hs: Hookedagain 01-02-2014, 10:00 PM I am safe and sound Peter. Thanks for thinking of me, I have seen him out there before. Seems like a nice kid. Never saw him with a partner though. Thoughts and prayer to his family. JohnR 01-03-2014, 08:17 AM Yes, young Fairhaven man - going to Brown, quite the Outdoorsman. http://www.turnto10.com/story/24341568/police-find-kayak-of-missing-man-fairhaven-hunter steve1874 01-03-2014, 01:41 PM Yes, young Fairhaven man - going to Brown, quite the Outdoorsman. http://www.turnto10.com/story/24341568/police-find-kayak-of-missing-man-fairhaven-hunter So going to Brown means you're not an outdoorsman? Glad I just slummed it going to Boston College. I grew up in the mountains out west and certainly would consider myself an outdoorsman. This poor kid goes missing and you #^&#^&#^&#^& on him because his parents had enough money to send him to a good school. Maybe he's so smart he's going for free. Dumb ass Brown kids don't stand a chance in the real outdoors? Maybe you can clarify how you came to this conclusion. vineyardblues 01-03-2014, 01:52 PM I think you read his message the wrong way :) All the news reports state he is an "outdoorsman" duck hunter etc etc etc steve1874 01-03-2014, 01:59 PM Ohhhh well now that makes a little more sense JohnR 01-03-2014, 02:26 PM Ohhhh well now that makes a little more sense Hahaha - maybe if you hadn't slummed all your BC time @ Scary Ann's you would have noticed the subtle difference :rotf2: (not to make light of the situation this kid is in - I hope he turns up safe and sound though that does not seem likely) Swimmer 01-03-2014, 02:34 PM Plus he could run a 4:17 mile..........too bad Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Slipknot 01-03-2014, 05:39 PM I saw that on the news just awful news it seems fearing the worst. makes ya wonder what went wrong if he was far from shore and flipped and could not right himself, that is a terrible thing. thoughts and prayers for him and his family Nebe 01-03-2014, 06:10 PM I love Yaking in the winter, but I would never dare go "out front". I would imagine he took a wave over the side or from astern and it rolled him. Or he was over a rock pile and didn't know it until a roller came in ... Poor kid. Such a waste. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device afterhours 01-03-2014, 07:33 PM such sad news... t's & p's for family and friends. agsurfr 01-03-2014, 07:59 PM good thoughts to those that love him jonserfish 01-03-2014, 09:51 PM clues are wierd at this point, found one dry glove in kayak which would lead you to believ he never flipped and no hunting stuff found either, i'm thinking hooligans in parking lot more likely. after reading the speck in the sea story i keep hope. BigFish 01-03-2014, 10:25 PM Duck hunting in a kayak and its in the single digits???? Tragic but lets use our thinking caps kids! You turn over in a yak in that water and you will not last 5 minutes. Raven 01-04-2014, 10:14 AM sea ducks ? not worth the danger i wonder if shooting a shot gun can flip ya? i'm thinking yes bloocrab 01-12-2014, 11:05 PM This case finally got some closure. Body found lower CapeCod Penzance Point R.I.P. Thoughts and prayers to those left behind. Slipknot 01-13-2014, 05:48 AM :-(. Very sad Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Rockport24 01-13-2014, 10:49 AM wow this is very sad, T&P's to the family. I agree going "out front" alone in these temps is recipe for disaster and that's looks like what happened. Raven - shooting a shot gun from a kayak is not a problem at all, fighting a fish is much more stressful on your balance. Saltheart 01-13-2014, 02:00 PM Very sad ending. Sea Flat 01-14-2014, 08:37 AM Fairhaven, all the way to Falmouth via tide? That is quite a trip! Poor guy vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
