Young kid, outdoorsman, great athlete, apparently drowned while duck hunting.

I am safe and sound Peter. Thanks for thinking of me, I have seen him out there before. Seems like a nice kid. Never saw him with a partner though. Thoughts and prayer to his family.

Yes, young Fairhaven man - going to Brown, quite the Outdoorsman.

So going to Brown means you're not an outdoorsman? Glad I just slummed it going to Boston College. I grew up in the mountains out west and certainly would consider myself an outdoorsman. This poor kid goes missing and you #^&#^&#^&#^& on him because his parents had enough money to send him to a good school. Maybe he's so smart he's going for free. Dumb ass Brown kids don't stand a chance in the real outdoors? Maybe you can clarify how you came to this conclusion.

I think you read his message the wrong way :)
All the news reports state he is an "outdoorsman" duck hunter etc etc etc

Hahaha - maybe if you hadn't slummed all your BC time @ Scary Ann's you would have noticed the subtle difference :rotf2:

(not to make light of the situation this kid is in - I hope he turns up safe and sound though that does not seem likely)

I saw that on the news
just awful news it seems fearing the worst.
makes ya wonder what went wrong
if he was far from shore and flipped and could not right himself, that is a terrible thing.
thoughts and prayers for him and his family

I love Yaking in the winter, but I would never dare go "out front". I would imagine he took a wave over the side or from astern and it rolled him. Or he was over a rock pile and didn't know it until a roller came in ... Poor kid. Such a waste.

clues are wierd at this point, found one dry glove in kayak which would lead you to believ he never flipped and no hunting stuff found either, i'm thinking hooligans in parking lot more likely. after reading the speck in the sea story i keep hope.

Duck hunting in a kayak and its in the single digits???? Tragic but lets use our thinking caps kids! You turn over in a yak in that water and you will not last 5 minutes.

wow this is very sad, T&P's to the family.

I agree going "out front" alone in these temps is recipe for disaster and that's looks like what happened.

Raven - shooting a shot gun from a kayak is not a problem at all, fighting a fish is much more stressful on your balance.
