I'm sure this has been covered to death, and yes, I tried searching for an answer before posting this question. But is there anyway to rotate pictures when you upload them? They all seem right side up when I see them on my computer, but as soon as I upload some, they're on their sides. Thanks again, I think I was absent the day this was covered in school. lol

Wow, I actually have the same issue. Would love to know what the trick is. I always assumed user error on my part.

The software on your computer recognizes the orientation of the picture on rotates the view for you...thats why it looks ok on your computer.
The thing to note...its just the view not the image that is rotated...it is not permanent and local to the viewing software.
I am not exactly sure how the software does this...either by reading embedded data from the camera or via algorithms that guess orientation from patterns in the image.
Anyway...you will need to use an application to permanently change the orientation. Most viewing softwares have these options.
Also, often ....after you upload a pic there are editing options. I like uploading to photobucket...as it is free and it serves as a nice backup for the photo archive on the computer.

in some programs you can click view up top
and then pre view in a web browser
a couple more clicks and it pops up
just as you would see it online....
