"GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN":D jeffsod 06-23-2003, 08:06 PM He was postin reports over at RT scortoncreekkid 06-23-2003, 10:58 PM Saltydog & Jeffsod I am back. I was over at RT for a look around and started a report on the Creek at the beginning of the season. Got over a 1,000 hits with only 6 or 7 replies. Then came the masses of fishermen to the Creek. So I dropped off the radar screen and went on the site in stealth mode. Salty I will be at the creek this coming weekend if I do not have to be forced to work on Saturday, and over the fourth I'll be down for four days starting Thursday night. Sorry to be off the boards for so long but I got gun shy after the on slot of fisherman at the Creek. I through I was helping out only to find out that I was not. Hope to hear from you soon, The Kid. tight lines to all and "GET YOUR BACKING WET." jeffsod 06-24-2003, 06:35 AM Good to see ya still out there. Yeah site specific reports can have that effect. Hope to hit the bayside again soon but further to the east. Sand eels have been small. saltydog 06-25-2003, 01:32 PM KID, glad to see your still around, posting repost does that, I STOPPED doing them a few years ago. (you can see what happens. not only that I was there one night an there was acouple of townies fishing w/bait in the creek, outgoing tide. the tied had washed the sand into a small bar w/ a drop off an the bait was being washed into it , the water there was about 1' at the most. I droped a fly above an let it drift into the drop-off . BANG! I got a hit froma COW that was at least 40" ran w/the line an snaped off. my falt not paying attention. well the bait guys heard me,an looked to see what was going on. MY FALT AGAIN I told the I just lost a big fish. well I left, an headed back down the next night at dusk. to my suprise there were at least 8 people fishing there. that goes to show, no need for reposts, some one will always find out. 'GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN":D Bigcat 06-27-2003, 04:38 PM Kid,You have made a good choice with Terry, he works very hard for his charters. scortoncreekkid 06-29-2003, 09:07 PM Saltydog: Tides look good for an early morning falling tide. We'll have to fish early because the Creek just went crazy with boats launching & jet skies. The parking is getting limited to. A lot of non boat/fishermen using the lot. If you come, I'll work out some parking for you. Also the "PARKING LOT " is starting to fill up, you'll need to take a number real soon on the weekend's. Hope we can hook up over the 4th of July weekend. (Sunday?) Tight Lines The KID. PS the Wooly Bugger looks like a winner.PSS. "GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN" scortoncreekkid 07-08-2003, 06:29 PM Saltydog: Missed you at the Creek over the fourth. You didn't miss much, not much in the way of fishing. Too many people, jet skies, & boats in the Creek. Had to fish at night and early in the morning to just get to the water. The police showed up with ATV's to do crowd control up and down the length of East Sandwich Beach. The Environmental Police worked on the boat landing/Creek problems. Did you get my e-mail? I'm just waiting for the summer to be done with so I can start fishing again. Tight lines, The KID saltydog 07-11-2003, 07:11 AM SCORTENCREEKKID, SORRY tohear so much action there, Ive seen it bussy BUT that sound like it went NUTS w/ summer people usualy sunday morning is quiet till about 11 when people start arriving. look like this summer MORE people knowwhere it is. WOW cops on the beach! guess it's kind of NICE:D to see it being policed, wouldent hert w/ a few LESS:cool: JET SKIES AROUND. how was your trip! I spent the weekend w/ my granddaughter an teaching her to tie flys, eat ice cream, an lay around. "GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN" scortoncreekkid 07-14-2003, 06:23 PM Saltydog: The trip was a bust!!! Terry lost his motor on an earlier charter. I will rebook as soon as I hear his boat is back in action. I don't know what's going on. I booked two charters and both boats go down for the count before I can get on the water. Still looking to do some fishing with you at the Creek. Started working the night tides with the wife. First time I got her to go night fishing. Big full moon and a +2ft.high tide. Lots of water to work with but had a 15 nt. wind from the Southeast. We had the whole Creek to fish. Not another fly chucker in sight. Pick up 1 fish on an eel fly I made up just foolin around one night. Got two more pick ups, but missed the set the hook part. Cycle hooks sure take some getting use to. During the day the fish'n is pretty slow with all the non-fishing going on down there. So I've taken up" bird watching "There is a new species claiming the beach. It's call a "thong bird ," it sure looks a whole better than thoses piping plovers, and it's very rare bird to. Hope to hear from you soon or see you at the Creek. Tight lines from The KID. saltydog 07-15-2003, 05:52 PM SCORTENCREEKKID, so they have migrated to your beach also, I started a guy fly fishing last season, he has been going ever time he can, he told me they were on the beach at Plum Island last Sunday also, He said he loves fishin even more now. I havent seen any yet, because I havent been OUT. they will more than likley be gone by the time I hit the water. "GOOD LUCK GOOD FISHIN" NEXT2NUN 07-15-2003, 08:02 PM Thong Bird,Thong Bird,Thong bird,Yes life is good!!! scortoncreekkid 07-16-2003, 05:15 PM Saltydog: When do you think you can get down here to fish? We must hook up to fish sometime soon. I'll send you an e-mail about fish'n in the fall. Tight Lines from The KID. Bigcat 07-16-2003, 05:43 PM Fished out front of Sandwich and Scortons this morning, found no birds, no bait and did not mark any fish on sounder. I did find small blues out around Sandy Neck. scortoncreekkid 07-17-2003, 05:32 PM Bigcat: Any luck at the parking lot or is that what you meant when you say you fished Scorton's? The fishing is real slow at the Creek this year. I'm thinking the Creek flow is all wrong. It's to far to my left, [my cottage side], the fish and the bait don't want to be trapped on the inside of that bar on the out going tide. Just an idea or I could be all wet. Did you try that bar off to the left of the jetty?[ Sandy Neck side] The long one. Fishing the inside you may pick up a fish or two. I'm stuck on shore and can't get to it at the right time during the out going tide. Any rare bird sightings? Small blues at Sandy's sure beats a skunking. Hope they move up the beach to give me a chance at some kind of fish to fish for. Tight lines The KID Bigcat 07-17-2003, 05:49 PM Kid, I was fishing the mouth of Scortons, thought for sure I would pick something up in the ripply water to the left looking in from the water.I did not spend more then half an hour there. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
