Rockport24 01-27-2014, 04:05 PM Anybody watch them?
Pink was damn good, she may take over for Kelly Clarkson for me!

spence 01-27-2014, 08:31 PM Aside from Katy Perry I thought it rocked. We watched I'n front of my home theater with the volume cranked.

Tagger 01-28-2014, 04:42 AM Pink has always been good ,, Kelly has a better voice .
nightfighter 01-28-2014, 08:28 AM I thought it was pretty awful. Opening act with Beyoncé and her thug husband was classless, ghetto trash. Google the lyrics. Four bleeps in the opening act??? Too much rap, as opposed to music, overall. Country acts showed class, though I had turned it off before the Willie Nelson et al act. Half the winners couldn't put an intelligible sentence together.....
basswipe 01-28-2014, 09:57 AM Kind of curious as to why during In Memoriam part of the show Jeff Hanneman and Clive Burr were snubbed?Hanneman having been a two time Grammy winner and Burr having given a face to MS long before any other celebrity,it doesn't make sense not to mention these two.
Grammies=Shammies. The whole thing has been a joke for many years now.
TheSpecialist 01-28-2014, 06:53 PM After watching the Grammy's it has reaffirmed my decision to stay with Classic Rock and Country 102.5 Boston
Rockport24 01-29-2014, 04:02 PM There was some country representation there, Kacie Musgrave is smokin hot!
FishermanTim 01-30-2014, 12:46 PM With the ratio of good acts compared to bad, it's like digging through a turd pile looking for a dollar.
In otherwords, it's not worth my time!
Most music acts today are lame and pointless, feeding off their own self driven egos.
If you had to pick one music style worth listening to for talent performers it would have to be country/western.
Rap, R & B, Soul, Rock...they've all been thrown into some insane music-meatgrinder, and the listening audience is supposed to eat that crap up with blind devotion.
I don't think so!
Fortunately for me my satellite radio has a station that I just love. It plays a majority of the songs I loved from the 80's, and not the pop songs, but the new wave/punk songs that wouldn't be played on regular FM radio. Basically 80's club music.
Man does that bring back memories!
The Dad Fisherman 01-30-2014, 01:23 PM Grammys?? Why start now.....awards programs are the biggest waste of prime time TV...I'd rather watch the Pro-Bowl
Rockport24 01-30-2014, 02:57 PM they mostly are (like the oscars) but the Grammys are usually better because its mainly performances with only the biggest awards thrown in. There are always a couple of good ones, but I agree with a lot of you that there is a lot of crap out there today!
I like country music, but I just cannot understand old school country music (like Willie Nelson and the rest of those old dudes who played) it's like the most boring music in the world... scratch that, James Taylor already holds that title!
The Dad Fisherman 01-30-2014, 03:35 PM Wow, Slammin Willie Nelson ......and James Taylor....go ahead, just say something bad about Johnny Cash and I will start a pettition to deport your a$$ back to Canada w/ your buddy Beiber :hihi:
Rockport24 01-30-2014, 05:03 PM Johnny Cash at least had some style and wrote some good tunes..
I actually like a lot of Taylor's songs, but listening to him is a good cure for insomnia
Tagger 01-30-2014, 05:20 PM Did Bruno Mars perform ? there's some talent ... Would like to see Sixto Rodriguez nominated ..
Tagger 01-30-2014, 05:20 PM Beyonce is great alone
spence 01-30-2014, 06:59 PM Did Bruno Mars perform ? there's some talent ... Would like to see Sixto Rodriguez nominated ..
Did you see his opening act a few years ago? Smokin :smoking:
Don't anyone here diss Willie Nelson.

And you can't leave out Hank Williams Sr.
Heck, he wrote many songs that made others famous!
There were 2 local bands that have dissolved into music history (only just recently).
One was "The Spurs" that played country swing.
The other, an offshoot of "The Spurs" called "The Coachmen" that played nuttin' but drinkin' and truck drivin' songs.
The lead singer of both bands was Allen Sheinfeld, who looks like a cross between Buddy Holly after a week-long bender and Dennis the Menace's father.
But boy can he sing those drinking and driving songs!!!
