Hello--My wife and I just moved to the Cape in January and I just found StriperTalk. We've lived in PA the last 30 years, but we're not from there and we wanted a change, and wanted to be closer to the coast. I lived in Mass as a kid--Dover--and the first baseball game I ever saw was at Fenway in '67 and Yaz hit a homer, so I have been a genuine Sox fan my whole life (and now I have NESN!) I've fished around the Vineyard a lot with friends the last dozen years, but am new to the Cape. I'm looking forward to doing a lot of surf and fly fishing now and may even get a kayak or a small cc boat :uhoh: Thanks for reading--Chris

Welcome to the site ChrisG,

My first Sox game was also at Fenway in 1967. On bat day. My brother and I both got Rico Petrocelli bats. Unfortunately, the Sox got shut out 1-0 by a young pitcher for the Kansas City Athletics by the name of Jim "Catfish" Hunter, but I don't remember who pitched for the Sox. Joe Rudi hit a solo homer for the A's for the only run. I even remember eating peanuts that day.
