Picked up a few of the 2.05 oz ones at Cabella's over the weekend. A little pricey, but I got 212$ in credit for a pair of 7 year old waders so I grabbed a few. My question is, have people used them for striped bass? If so, how do they do in strong current like the canal or a river?? The hardware is pretty heavy duty too. Are people fishing them out of the box, or switching things up? I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks in advance.

been fishing mine at the ditch the last two seasons, the big ones and the small ones.

fine the way it is right out of the box, hooks and splt rings are stout and strong, fished mine like that for the first season, then i actually removed those hooks it came with and replaced em with 6x 4/0 vmcs, the vmcs are a lil longer and seem to penerate better than the owners.

a lil tough to work but once you find the retrieve the action is awesome, can work it like a spook on top or about 6-8" under the surface and can actually get the plug to jump out of the water like a fleeing baitfish.

one day it was all they would hit

the finish kind of sucks for plug that cost more than normal, but the action is sweet

i like the smaller one for back bays or ocean fronts and the big one for the canal.

I know johnny sax swears by orca, theres a few threads about it on here somewhere.

They make a loaded sinking version now too, i loaded one of my small ones for the ditch before they released the new version, great tinker mac profile.

I lub em :love: the silver reflective one is my favorite. Yea the tuna hooks they come with are a little rediculous, I go with either 3/0 or 4/0 vmc's. They are pretty difficult to work when the tide gets goin full bore you need to work them pretty slow to get the correct side to side action, but when that happens i just work the seam close to shore and still get good results. my only gripe is sometimes they cast like a napkin
