I am heading down soon for a family vacation but I was hoping to get out and catch my first bonefish if possible. Has anybody here tried in this area?

I fished for them north of there, in Eleuthera. Had a blast. I used small jigs, maybe a quarter ounce. I cant remember. The fish liked the brown colors. The smaller fish are pretty easy to fool but not the big ones. You're going to love it. Completely addicting. Or it was for me. The flats and the mangroves and the white sand. I hear where you are going is god's country. Have fun.

Had a charter w Arthur Dean I believe, a few years ago down there. Picked me up at the resort dock in his boat. Got a bunch on ultra light spinning casting small bucktails at mudding fish. The fish are a blast, pure muscle and very fast.
