Anything at the west wall yet or typical first arrival locations? Water temps in CCB are still very cold.

FishermanTim 04-08-2014, 04:27 PM I wouldn't expect much because with the amount of ice melt runoff, the waters flowing into the sea will be colder for a bit longer than usual. That will generally mean a slower warm up of coastal waters. That doesn't mean we couldn't have a spring heat wave, but I'm not betting on any weather predictions because their usually wrong. Buckrage 04-08-2014, 04:57 PM I saw a few herring in middleboro today Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Mugz 04-08-2014, 05:05 PM Been going to the WW for the past 10 years on Marathon Monday....sometimes I catch a few, sometimes the skunk. I use the Marathon as my gauge, but I think I will wait another MONTH after this winter. The trout won't even bite my line......(in MA of course). tysdad115 04-08-2014, 05:32 PM Wait, I saw a report from a local shop on FB that said water temp doesnt make any difference to stripers. You almost have to respect their brilliant FB propaganda tactics to boost business though... Rob Rockcrawler 04-08-2014, 10:19 PM I have no evidence but i think a lot of it has to do with the angle of the sun. Everything seems to jump into gear when the sun is higher in the sky, i know it happens to me. zacs 04-09-2014, 08:47 AM ww :hihi: :devil2: FishermanTim 04-09-2014, 10:35 AM There's always the chance of getting schoolies in some backwater estuaries. With shallower water, they tend to warm up enough to attract and keep schoolies until the larger fish hit our waters. The earliest I've gotten schoolies and one keeper was March 5th some years back. If you can find shallow waters, and the sun is high, and the temps are good, you should be able to find fish. jonserfish 04-09-2014, 05:33 PM There's always the chance of getting schoolies in some backwater estuaries.
