When you mention "Open House" it makes me think he is trying to sell the business.

If he is just starting out it would be more appropriate to say he is having a "Grand Opening" event.

I'm going to try to stop by Soups! I think I can make it before Soccer and a 1st Communion.

Thank you for mentioning a 1st Communion. It
has been so long that I forgot the beauty of that
ceremony. The lines of beatific little boys and girls
walking down the aisle is a very fond memory.

If he was just starting out it might be Grand Opening but he opened this last year, just like a lot of shops he is having a special day to kick off the season and get people in the shop
