I'm planning for 10/19/13 ss beach little compton. set up around 3 for the meet and greet. Bring your families and or whoever wants to come hang out. you can bring grills or open fire here it's pretty cool. Moon high tide is around 8:30pm so we have a couple of ours of incoming tide and plenty of time to have fun and put some more faces to these names before hitting the surf. If there are those who can't make the date/place maybe we can get another one going somewhere closer to another group as well. I like the idea (of times past)of staggered leg gatherings as some might be able to travel to all. that would be awesome. start in the north and follow them south! I look forward to meeting all who can make it.

was a great day to hang out on a beach, cook, enjoy family and friends and a wobbly pop or two. the kids sure had a blast as did the adults.

frank and larry - that would be great. JJ and everyone else - we pick a day and bring the kids/family and try to get the kids into some fish. jonserfish put one together last fall and it was great. everyone brings some food and maybe some beers. we hang out and eat, fish and have a good time. everyone is invited w/kids or not. south shore beach has easy access and lets you have a fire so it was a great spot. last year as I pulled up to the beach there were fish breaking all over the place

Our clan would be in depending on the date, sounds like a great day for all! Look forward to meeting everyone and doing some fishing!!

I CALLED TO GET INFO. I LEFT A VOICE MAIL THERE AS THEY DO NOT OPEN UNTIL MEMORIAL DAY. AS FAR AS I KNOW THE MOST THEY CAN DO IS CHARGE A PARKING FEE(I THINK 12 OR 15 BUCKS) FISHING MIGHT BE AN ISSUE DURING THE DAY IF LOADED WITH SWIMMERS BUT USUALLY CLEARS OUT AROUND 4 ISH. OR YOU CAN FISH THE EDGES. YOU CAN ALSO APPLY FOR AN OVERNIGHT CAMPING PERMIT(ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER TRIED). THE ONLY TIME I HAVE BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM THERE IS DURING THE HURRICANES AS THE PARKING LOT(AND LAST MILE OF ROADWAY) IS STUFFED WITH SURFERS. I WILL FOLLOW UP AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIND OUT AS I AM INTERESTED IN THE OVERNIGHT THING.

We're definitely in again. I can't bring the dog though when the beach is open. I was kinda unprepared last year. I want to make some good food to bring and grill, like some steak tips, etc.

I don't think the locals will have an issue as long as you don't give them a reason to complain or the size of the crowd creates a problem. Do you need a permit if a group exceeds a certain size?

Nothing special needed. The only issue will be space, if it's a nice day. That place fills up quick! Probably will be plenty of room in early afternoon though. The only thing they give a hard time about is glass containers and burning anything with nails (pallets). Other than that, I don't think anyone will bother us. We might want to set up further south this year if we want to start fishing earlier. Longer walk to the #^&#^&#^&#^&ter though...

mid day it might be an issue but hopefully as the day goes on people will leave the beach and it will not be an issue for those arriving a little later. it looks like there is a tiny overflow lot on the left as you drive down south shore road but I don't know of any alternate parking as I don't know the area well. lets hope for good weather and no parking issues

As far as weather, the're are showing sunny skies and little chance of rain, so people are likely to stay a little longer on the beach. Never been there, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

As I told Newport mafia a couple of weeks ago I will be unable to make it for the spring run,The weather out on the Cape will be fantastic this weekend plus with a 4X4 pass out on the beach I can't pass this up.
I wish you all the best,Me and my crew will see you all this fall.(maybe deep fry a turkey)?

Watch for Dominic cause he's gonna school you all in fishing.

Anyways hope you all have some stories from tonight. I'm sure Dominic kicked arse as always.

So, another great time was had by all who were able to make it! Not very fishy this year but the food was killer, weather was great and the kids had a blast.

I heard something about a tummy ache de-railed the Taco Stand from heaven. Everyone was bummed but we feasted on authentic Prochetta, steak tip subs, chorizo onions an peppers, dogs, burgers and somores with baseball sized marshmallows.

I was too busy stuffing my face and didn't get a chance to take any pics but I'm sure others will put some up.

Let's pick a date for the fall and do it again, maybe the fish will show this time.

Only took a few, but here they are. Great day, with awesome weather, great food, and good company! Really enjoyed meeting you guys, and kids talked about their new friends all the way home! Wish the fish showed up to give us a little action, but the day was a lot of fun. Looking forward to these fish tacos I keep hearing about, but steak tips and chorizo and peppers were to die for!! My daughter Jordan said on the ride home, just before drifting off to sleep, " I love my new SB friends!" ... :love:. Us too! Thanks for a great day everyone, cant wait for the next one!!

WAS ANOTHER GREAT TIME AT S-B-SSB. KIDS ALL SEAM TO HAVE A BLAST. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, THE WEATHER GREAT. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FALL BASH. I WILL BE BRINGING A BOILER SET UP FOR ALL THE BLUE CRAB WE CAN CATCH AND MAYBE SOME STEAMERS AS WELL.
