Does anyone know if Abu has a sales rep for the northeast? I sent an email regarding a Record reel that went bad, but have not heard anything in nine days. It went to Pure Fishing site from the Abu site. The reel was being overhauled at Surfland, but I was told that the internals had degraded to the point that it was DOA. Just want a few questions addressed before I consider investing in another Abu product......
It's gonna be a long time,I placed an order with them a while back it took almost 2 months to get here

yup. My reels are rinsed every use.... Serviced by Martha annually. Plenty of grease. The metal surrounding holes and cuts that hold the thumb bar have worn to the point that it is so sloppy that it will not engage.

Still no response from Abu Garcia or Purefishing.............
Would love to get the president of Abu on the phone and ask him if this is how they regularly handle customer service. Anyone here have a contact?

OK, I called that number and got a live person immediately and she was great. She checked back on email to the beginning of the month and couldn't find anything from someone with the first name of Ross.
She did say that they have had issues with one of their email systems.
She advised that you should send all correspondents to:
abugarcia@purefishing.com
I would definitely call them. they were very supportive when I spoke to them 5 minutes ago.

Thanks, Paul. Due to the rain, I had some down time so I just spoke with a woman in Iowa. They want me to ship the reel to them. So I called Surfland and Martha still has the complete disassembled reel which I will pick up and ship. They will either repair, or offer 45% off the new $200 Record, which is a new design this year. We'll see how it plays out. Also ordered a new one from Surfland, which should come in a week from Monday.
The Abu service rep said they are way behind on emails........:smash:
