finally got my boat on a slip after trailering for 8 years and going out on wed. .I usually consider may 15 opening day (for me) on stripers , usually enough fish around to give me a good shot at them . but weather has been cold and not sure if water temps are right yet . b.f. reporting 52 at surface , i'm pretty sure macks will be here but are there stripers , not looking for spots just an overview if anyone has been out

hit by the skunk monster today , got some macs but had to weed through tons of herring , but it was a nice morning before the breeze picked up . it felt good just being out on the water although if would have felt better with a couple o fish

Got a report of a Tautog caught while flounder fishing in the harbor at one of the popular spots.
Weird !

still no signs of life for me , got out this morning , macks no problem (no herring today) tried 3 spring spots that I usually catch fish and 1 new spot not even a nervous bait . trip shortened when n.e. wind kicked up . getting a little frustrated as there should be more signs of life by now . no signs of schoolies action either no birds
