I'm camping with the family in Narragansett for a few days starting next Friday 05/30. My 7 year-old and 4 year-old are asking about fishing. Can I take them to Hazard Ave at night with eels in their flip-flops? Just kidding...

Anything that would be appropriate? Can I catch anything off the East Wall during the day with sandworms? Or I was thinking of booking a 2 or 3-hour trip with someone with a small boat, maybe we can tube&worm for schoolies?

I would contact Capt. Andy D'Angelo out of Maridee Bait and Tackle. He's a good guy and really goes out of his way to make sure his clients have a nice experience on the water.

You could do the West Wall with worms and maybe get Scup and who knows, Sea Robins. East Wall is a mess as it took a beating this Winter. Great Island bridge for schoolies and Shad. Ninigret Pond at the camp ground in Charlestown for schoolies (although they may charge you to go into the parking lot).

tough one , a little early .

But with kids I,d try middlebrige , chance of winter flounder , white perch , schoolies , junk fish .

&& its a easy place for kids to fish ..:fishin:

Thanks guys. We will be down there from Friday - Tuesday, taking the kids out of school for a bit. So on Monday, atleast, I can't imagine crowds will be an issue.

if you are looking to stay on Narragansett side of the pond. the great island bridge is a good bet. most use the bulkhead on the west side of bridge, not actually the bridge itslef. go at dusk, fish into night. clamworms on bobber is a sure bet for schoolies or small keeper. might be squid there too at night if you have squid jigs kids always get a kick of them squirting and changing color.
