Richule thingy. Had macs for din din last night,, good stuff by my standards :uhuh: Fly Rod 06-26-2014, 06:57 PM off the boat Tuesday price for bass was 5 bucks a pound...when filleted multiply by 3 Mac's R good on the grill...:) Finaddict 06-26-2014, 07:21 PM Price of striped bass on Cape Cod at fish house - $19 per pound ... 2 pounds for dinner $38 ... it is a lot ... ... but add up everything you buy for fishing including rod, reel, line, lures, leader material stuff, waders, boots, cleats, belt, belt gear, surf bag, surf top, hat, light, gloves, gas to get there, maybe a hotel, suv for fishing, rod rack, maybe a bike for fishing and other gear, plus food while fishing ... and that may not be so expensive ... as any fish you catch and bring home may be more per pound on the first trip than $19 per pound ... .... include a boat and other stuff with that and forget about it ... ... BUT ... the experience of fishing and catching a fish in a beautiful setting on the ocean ... PRICELESS - all that other stuff doesn't matter one bit when you're out there and in the zone. clcharette 06-26-2014, 08:26 PM $22/lb in Wellfleet Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device 5/0 06-26-2014, 08:58 PM Wow and I thought it was all for fun, eating them was just the added bonus. Funny I told my previous boss I fished to catch them and eat it (feed my family)to compensate of lack of income. I should of got my com. License.... But if I did the fish God's would striked me dead. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Rob Rockcrawler 06-26-2014, 10:31 PM Wow, the most i saw it for was 14.99 a couple years ago. I will buy previously frozen cod before fresh striper any day. ProfessorM 06-27-2014, 06:32 AM I bought fresh haddock for 9 a lb instead. I am sure the price will come down once more fish come in Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Mark C 06-27-2014, 06:57 AM Here in South West CT. $25-28/lb JohnR 06-27-2014, 07:24 AM On Nantucket 14-15 years ago I saw $29/# I like striper but will take cod / haddock over it any day of the week. MAKAI 06-27-2014, 07:32 AM Bass is mediocre at best. Many more tasty fishes in the sea. Buying unbled bass with the red meat still on it would be a real disappointment for that kind of money. Better to go out to a nice restaurant and get waited on. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Dick Durand 06-27-2014, 07:38 AM As I return a "keeper", I smile at the irony of releasing a fish worth so much on the market; however, the pleasure of catching one is greater than eating one. Rockport24 06-27-2014, 10:01 AM Agreed that cod/haddock are better to eat any day of the week. Striper always tastes better when you catch it. blue oyster 06-27-2014, 05:09 PM how much is rock salmon a pound , read an article in a local news paper about a fish coop selling rock salmon , its dogfish , they want to generate more interest in the fish so they are calling it some thing else :biglaugh: Raven 06-27-2014, 06:04 PM they should be worth the price of CAVIAR MakoMike 06-28-2014, 07:28 AM how much is rock salmon a pound , read an article in a local news paper about a fish coop selling rock salmon , its dogfish , they want to generate more interest in the fish so they are calling it some thing else :biglaugh: "rock salmon" is what its called in some European countries. I don't know what it retails for, but ex-vessel is usually somewhere between 10 and 20 cents a pound. Surf Caster 06-28-2014, 05:51 PM Bass is mediocre at best. Many more tasty fishes in the sea. Raven 06-30-2014, 05:40 AM Wasn't that called slime head until people realized that name wouldn't sell? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Never heard that reference before  the reason i said that striper's should be valued like caviar was because of how the sturgeon was hunted to near extinction because of it's roe and superior eggs..... and so i saw a parallel as far as how well stripers taste, i think grain fed farmed swipers in circular enclosures just off the shoreline down south would taste just as good as wild or it would be hard to tell the difference. it certainly would take the pressure off and stock the great lakes while your at it. bassmaster 07-04-2014, 02:47 PM looks like u gunna starve cause u cant catch fish Paul bwhahahahaha ProfessorM 07-04-2014, 07:07 PM LOL. hello Dave iamskippy 07-05-2014, 06:10 AM Local restaurant in RI had scup plates at 17.99 and stripper or blue fish at 19.99 Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Raider Ronnie 07-05-2014, 06:44 AM Local restaurant in RI had scup plates at 17.99 and stripper or blue fish at 19.99 Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device $19.99 is pretty cheap for a stripper.
