At least 50 boats participated in the 3rd annual bluefin blowout tuna tournament at the Cape Ann Marina...Dave Carrao of .Com took 1st place...last year was a disaster with no fish caught...at least this year they paid attention to the time of month and the moon phase....cost was at least 900 bucks per boat....those of U that may want to paticipate next year keep the 1st of August on your mind....:)

You got to love Sandro.
The kid doesn't talk very much. Just fishes like hell and puts them in the boat.
Only a matter of time till he has his own boat.

So .com really is THAT good huh? Good payday for them! I assume they also get to actually sell the fish they caught too?

Gotta pay for the new 44' he's having built.... He has a lot of sponsors putting their gear on it too, from seats, to electronics, to power plant, to paint..... And he already has the "old" boat sold, but can't be delivered to new owner until after this season. Would have liked to see Sandro get that for his ride.....

I am surprised that sandro does not get his own boat....his father would more then likely pay for it....even tho the credit goes to .com sandro would do well on his own.

No doubt Sandro knows his stuff - but wouldn't he just use .com's spots and become another competitor? Are spots really all that secret anyway? If I was Dave, I would pay him much more to keep him there.

Dot.com and a boat from jersey both caught big fish day 1. 880lbs. and 939lbs.
Dave did not fish Day 1. Sandro Captained . Dave came to the weigh in and then cleaned the boat by himself while Sandro talked Tuna.....
As for secret spots...I was berthed near them and they left both nights at 12:30 am. I had been to bed about 2 hours.
Its not too hard to find them. The bottom line is they are very experienced and do it better than most.
Being new to the fleet......it's easy to not catch fish.... Time on the water is key.
At the tournament the "word" was the fish were caught off York Me. Just to get as many boats to go north as possible.
It's Gloucester ...they only talk about fishing with family.....and then they lie.
