bloocrab 08-23-2014, 01:09 PM Saw a guy ride up on his bike this morning
(Bike loaded with rods & tackle)
Parked it in front of his vehicle
Stared around a bit
Got into his vehicle and drove away leaving his bike and gear behind -
Guessing he ran to the DD's up the road ~
Having had grown up in the city...I was flawed at how trust-worthy some people still are.
I waited around a bit just to keep guard, but then took off myself as I wasn't really sure what I just witnessed
Back home, someone would have just hopped right on to the bike and drove away....or tossed it into the back of their pickup.
Hope the stuff was still there when he returned?
MAKAI 08-23-2014, 02:40 PM Easy answer.
It's like guys who toss golf clubs in the pond on the course never to golf again.
He had enough of the ditch.

You did the right thing. Where I grew up someone would have pushed the bike over and waited until you came back just to laugh. Hope his stuff was still there when he returned.

Swimmer 08-23-2014, 06:43 PM Maybe he was exhausted and forgot to take his stuff with him. It happens with all kinds of gear at the ditch.

Nah, couldn't be that...it wasn't forgotten... It happened all too fast. He peddled up, carefully positioned it in front of his truck....stared back at the ditch for maybe a minute...then got into the truck and backed out.
No hesitation...no time to forget. Looked like a regular....(he did look frustrated), but too quick to have forgotten it IMO
Unless he was actually robbing the truck??? :jump1:
The Dad Fisherman 08-23-2014, 08:57 PM Gee....I thought this was going to be about Scouts :hee:

This was more likely the scenario, IMO
spinncognito 08-25-2014, 09:18 AM He was an undercover cop and that was a "bait bike". Probably had a camera hidden in the handle bars. If someone had stolen it the brakes would have locked up 40 yards down the surface road and the green police would have come from everywhere to arrest the guy. :morons:
Sounds like a great idea actually!

Hahaha - Cape Cawd New Reality Series from the banks of the Canal: Bait Bike
Swimmer 08-25-2014, 11:33 AM So we have no idea how this turned out. My only other thought was he had to take a dump, and was unable to do so in the brush

When I was visiting my family in Pennsylvania in July I misplaced my tablet for a day or two and was surprised to find it in the garage on the roof of my mother's car... I'm really glad mom is such a careful driver, as she went out around town twice while it was there... DOH!!!
