Report of a GW in Duxbury Bay yesterday.
That will make kayaking there much more challenging!
The word is it was a 10-15' (juvenile/adolescent) shark.
Maybe that might be the key to keeping the seals from venturing into the bay?
Of course there will probably be some yahoo that will try to catch this fish (or one like it) and cause problems for all!!!

Are we talking inside of Saquish? like past Browns Bank? So much for floating down the current between the bank and long beach! We tie up to the bank and dive off the bow and float in the current.

It was out front, not inside the harbor. I was doing that exact swim and float this weekend. Yikes!

I don't know how people can surf in CA or Australia with these things lurking.
I wonder how the divers market's business doing. I used to dive CCB 3-4 days a week, mostly up in that area, Hi Pines, pinthis, gurnet, etc. The pucker factor would probably turn me inside out if I saw a GW down there.

I tried to learn to surf in Sonoma County in the red triangle. The water was crystal clear and 58 deg. Besides the fact that my booties were too big and my feet went numb, I spent the entire time looking through the waves for the approach of giant shadows or fins. It wasn't as fun as I imagined. Even there the attack rate is less than one in million, but that doesn't do much for the primal fear I get in those waters.

Back in'94 I was vacationing with friend in Hawaii, the island of Kauai.
We were swimming at the Barking Sands Beach near the Na Pali coast (N/W coast) and wondered why it was so empty.
Get back to the condo and while reading USA Today, there was a news blip about a shark attack on a surfer at the same beach days earlier.
Of course we hadn't ventured out anywhere near the breakers, but just knowing that sharks were in th e area mad us glad we didn't venture out far.

Its a very cool place. Gets crowded on the weekend, especially this weekend. We'll be there one of the days, I'm sure. We're usually on the inside between the bank and the sand spit beach, as far south as the boats go. Be in a white 25 Nautic star, stop by.
