I respooled on of my boat rods yesterday with 25# Yozuri smoke that I purchased for $3 at the June meeting of MSBA. I attached a $15 jig and lowered it into 200 feet of water. On the second jig the line just snapped and out went my jig and 200+ feet of line. I'm sure there is a chance that I kinked or scarred the line while I was spooling it on or it could just be a fluke. I'm wondering whether or not I should use the other spools I purchased that night. I'd rather sacrifice the $3 than more of those jigs or worse a prize cod or striper. Anyone experience a similar issue?

i think its great line. i have 20 on my schoolie rod. works perfectly.
sounds like ya line was cut off by a sharp rock or maybe a shark. o yeah and you probally shouldnt be using 25# for cod especially while jigging. i use 50 braid to 80 mono for my jigging.

I just want to remind everyone that bought the inexpensive spools of line at the last msba meeting that they mwere sold as mismarked spools and the correct test was told to most of us as we bought them.
I think the 20 pound was actually 15 or 17
