Paul R. McAdam
October 24, 2014

Paul R. McAdam, 71, died Friday, October 24, 2014. He was the loving husband of Martha J. (Farley) McAdam and father of Sean R. McAdam (Laura) of North Kingstown, and Courtney D. Campbell (Jason) of Fairfax, VA.

Paul was born in Revere, MA on August 17, 1943. He was a lifelong public servant from his time spent in the United States Marine Corps, then on to his dream of becoming a police officer in Rhode Island, Washington, DC, and Virginia to working as a Zoning Inspector for the Fairfax County Government from which he retired after years of service.

"Pops" mission in life was to help everyone that he came in contact with. He spent his life in the public eye and enjoyed every moment. Pops spent his youth in Rhode Island then moved to the DC area and, finally, settled in Northern Virginia. His connection to RI was always there, and his children spent many summers in RI with their grandparents. Even upon retiring, he never stopped; he continued to work and became known to many throughout the state for a variety of reasons.

The one thing he was the best at was being a Grandpa, Pops, and Poppa to Paul, Macayla, Tyler, Alexandra, Jason, and Brady. Pops passed away doing what he loved and looking out over the ocean.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd, Wickford. Burial with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to The Exeter Animal Shelter, 165 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 will be appreciated.
