View Full Version : How to Fix a broken hinge on a lead mold

Hey Folks,
I have 2 lead molds that have broken hinges on them ( See Picks) is there any easy way to replace or repair these?

i would like the hinge or hinge to function again so i dont have to use a C Clamp.

Find a small metal door hinge that will fit. Grind off old hinges. Drill pilot holes, then use a tap to thread the holes to accept screws.

that is what i was thinking, i was not sure if there was any method to alignment with the old hinge.

I"ve used it on all kinds of fixes just like that.

Maine text will burn with the heat.

Use 4 C clamps to squeeze the mold in position before you drill your pilot holes

i have some nice old pin hinges from the remod job of the kitchen maybe i will try that
