I've been casually ice fishing the last few seasons in the southeastern mass area and it's time to expand my horizons. I've got it in my head to catch some decent sized pike. so where would be some viable options within 3 or so hours of boston to get this done?

I can't find tuna at the grocery store so at least I'm consistent....

Check the Mass F&G website for the pike and musky stocked waters, and then check the pond maps.

That should give you a good start!

Then when you go bring a good book, because unless the pike have begun acting like sunfish, they are an elusive species that take time and patience to catch.

You'll prbably catch them when you are targeting something else.

There's a place up by me if you guys want to come up on a Saturday. Like 10 miles from Waltham.

If the weather keeps up like this we'll be ok. I've never been there before, but I hear that it's good.

PM your number Kev...I had it in my old phone and lost it in the conversion.

Pike ice fishing? Fun! I'd be interested if there is room. :-)

I've tried for pike many times in MA over the years, never had much luck. I'm not an expert however. The place you can guarantee (lots of pike) is Sabattus Pond in Maine, northeast of Lewiston. I've fished there a few times and slammed 'em, usually about 3-4 lbs each. The ice fishing guys do real well there too.
