View Full Version : can I put a metal cutting blade on a chop saw? thefishingfreak 12-07-2014, 10:05 PM Like a big wizzer wheel? I need to cut a bunch of stainless pipe and steel stock. Rmarsh 12-08-2014, 06:16 AM I put a metal cutting blade on my compound miter saw to cut metal ballusters...works fine. Just make sure to buy multiple blades as the diameter of the blade gets smaller as you use it ...to the point where it gets too small to make the cuts. Raider Ronnie 12-08-2014, 07:07 AM Difference between a metal chop saw & miter saw is blade diameter, RPMs and the guard. It can be done but you will most likely do some melting to the plastic guard. thefishingfreak 12-08-2014, 08:03 AM don't really care about the chop saw it's an old Ryobi. Thanks i'll give it a whip :bo: Rmarsh 12-08-2014, 09:27 AM I used an older saw that I had...no real damage but it does make a mess....and alot of sparks and smoke of course. I just wear them out and let company pay for them. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
